The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for global environment. The mandate of UNEP's Policy and Programme Division is to strategically position UNEP’s vision and engagement through innovative policies and creative programmes. The Policy and Programme Division consolidates policy, programme, monitoring, gender and social safeguards functions, as well as engagement with the United Nations system and key global processes such as Agenda 2030.
