The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN Headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General. We support programme implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) globally, as well as the global Resident Coordinator System and other UN offices in Kenya, by providing Administrative, conference, Security and information services (www.unon.org). The posts advertised are located in the Department of Security and Safety Service (DSS) at the Nairobi duty station. The United Nations Security and Safety Service (SSS) is responsible for providing security to delegates, staff, visiting dignitaries and other visitors. Under the overall command of the Chief of Service, Security and Safety Section, the Security Lieutenant is required to perform armed security functions and reports directly to the Security Inspector or supervising Officer.
