This position is located in the Data Innovation and Capacity Branch (DICB) in the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) at New York Headquarter. The Senior Programme Management Officer reports directly to the Chief of Branch. The focus of this jobs is to manage and support the work of the Secretary-General’s Independent High-level Expert Group (IHLEG) on Beyond Gross Domestic Product (B-GDP) mandated under UN General Assembly resolution A/RES79/1 of 22 September 2024 to develop recommendations for a limited number of country-owned and universally applicable indicators of sustainable development that complement or go beyond gross domestic product. The Division compiles and disseminate global statistical information, develop standards and norms for statistical activities, and support countries' efforts to strengthen their national statistical systems.
