The objective of this term of reference is to hire a Watersheds and Nature Consultant to support the oversight of the Nature Action portfolio in Brazil to leverage efforts to foster more integrated and coherent public and private policies that promote the sustainable development and addresses the triple planetary crisis of biodiversity and nature loss, climate change and chemicals and pollution. The Watersheds and Nature Consultant will collaborate closely with UNEP Divisions and the UNEP Latin America and the Caribbean Office to ensure the effective planning and implementation of water-related work in the UNEP project portfolio in Brazil. Their work will focus on thematic areas such as integrated water resources management, nature-based solutions, ecosystem-based approaches, climate mitigation and adaptation, nexus approaches and the protection and restoration of ecosystems.
