    2018 YPP UPDATE on EXAM RESULTS

    For those candidates who completed the Legal Affairs, Social Affairs, or Statistics exam (first stage) on 25 October 2018, this is a quick update to let you know that the results are not yet finalized. We expect to communicate your results approximately ten days prior to the 13 December 2018 exam (second stage).

    2017 YPP POLNET Written Examination Results

    We have now completed the marking of the written part of the 2017 Young Professionals Programme (YPP) POLNET Examination. The marking process took longer than expected, therefore, we thank you for your patience. The 2017 YPP POLNET Online Examination official results have now been sent via email to all candidates. As previously communicated, there were approximately 5,000 examinees who participated in the 2017 YPP POLNET Examination. As such, this was a highly competitive examination. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation.

    Successful candidates have received further information on the next steps. Those who did not pass the online written exam will receive detailed feedback letters in the upcoming weeks. Candidates are advised to check their primary email address (both inbox and spam folders) for an email from ypp2017@un.org and contact the YPP Team if they cannot locate such an email.

    2018 YPP ONLINE EXAM

    Thank you to all who participated in the first stage of the 2018 YPP Exams yesterday! There were close to 4000 test takers who completed the exams (Legal Affairs, Social Affairs, Statistics). We are aware that the site did experience some delays during a short portion of the exam time window. Please note that we have records through the testing system of all those that experienced technical issues and will make sure that candidate outcomes are not negatively affected by this. Overall, we are happy that the exam has been modernized and made more accessible for candidates globally.

    We appreciate your patience while we process the results. Candidates convoked to the second stage of the online exam (13 December 2018) will be notified accordingly.

    YPP 2018 EXAM IN SECURITY AFFAIRS – APPLICATION PERIOD IS OPEN!

    The application period is open from 25 October through 23 December 2018 (closes at 11:59 PM New York time). To view and apply to the Job Opening YPP Exam in Security Affairs JO # 103508

    Current UN Secretariat staff applying through the G to P or G to N tracks will find the relevant job openings through inspira, using their internal staff accounts. Current UNS DSS staff, on contracts administered by UNDP should apply through the external JO listed above.

ANY SERVICES OR PROGRAMMES SOLD BY SUCH COMPANIES ARE NOT SUPPORTED OR ENDORSED BY THE UNITED NATIONS.

    2018 YPP EXAMINATION TIMEFRAME - UPDATE

    We are pleased to announce that the timeframe for the exam will on Thursday, 25 October 2018, has been extended to better accommodate various time zones. The exam will take place between 5:00 AM – 12:00 PM (New York time). The exact length of the exam will be announced soon. Again, it is recommended that candidates reserve for themselves approximately 3 hours within the 7 hour timeframe (though the test itself will be less than 3 hours).

    2018 YPP EXAMINATION TIMEFRAME

    Congratulations to those convoked to the first stage of the 2018 YPP online examination! As noted in the Examination Structure tab of this site, the first stage will include the General Paper and Part 1 of the Specialized Paper (the multiple choice questions).

    We are pleased to announce that the exam will take place on Thursday, 25 October 2018, between 6:00 AM – 11:30 AM (New York time). The exact length of the exam will be announced soon. It is recommended that candidates reserve for themselves approximately 3 hours within the 5.5 hour timeframe (though the test itself will be less than 3 hours).

    Additionally, candidates should find a location for taking the exam during above period with stable internet connection, comfortable seating, appropriate lighting, and limited or no noise or distraction. More information and tips to come!

Please note that these lists contain examples of the types of texts and readings that would be helpful when studying for the exam. They are not exhaustive lists, and there are many comparable texts and readings that can also be helpful in preparing for the exam.

    2017 YPP Updates

    INFONET exam: The roster has been established and overall results letters have been released. For those who did not pass the written exam, feedback letters were also sent. If you have not received your email containing the results, please make sure to check your junk/spam folder.

    MAGNET exam: The interview stage is now concluded and the overall results will be released shortly.

    POLNET exam: We are at the final grading/marking stages and we hope to be inviting the successful candidates to the verification test in October. We recognize that this is delayed from what was expected and apologize for any inconvenience. Successful candidates will be receiving further information on the next steps. The final results of the examination will be sent out in detail once the process concludes.

    2018 YPP EXAM DATES

    The first stage of the 2018 YPP exams will be administered online on 25 October 2018. The second stage will be administered online on 13 December 2018. Exact time windows to complete the exam and further details will be provided to those who are convoked to the exams. Convocations (invitations for those eligible to participate in the exam) are expected to be sent mid-September.

    Can I apply to the 2018 YPP exam if I am waiting on results for the 2017 YPP exam?

    Candidates who applied to the 2017 YPP examination and wish to apply to the 2018 YPP examination, are allowed to do so (if they meet the eligibility requirements). Applying to the YPP 2018 examination will not affect your current YPP 2017 application. Good luck!
