    2023 YPP Application Period is Open

    The application period for the 2023 YPP exams is now open. Applications will be accepted through 29 June 2023. The job openings can be found on the UN Careers Portal and in Inspira. The exam areas and their corresponding job openings are:

    Economic Affairs: job opening #207015
    Information Systems and Technology: job opening #207005

    Remember to watch the application guidance video to learn more about the process. And a quick reminder that candidates are allowed to submit an application for only one YPP job opening. Submissions to multiple YPP exams will result in an automatic disqualification.

    For UN staff members: please note that the job openings for internal YPP applicants are only accessible through inspira, via “G to P” or “G to N” job openings, and are not available on the Careers Portal.

    2023 YPP Exam Areas and Participating Member States

    Please find below the list of participating Member States for the 2023 YPP. The application period will likely be open from late April – June and the exam areas for the 2023 YPP will be:
    Economic Affairs
    Information Systems & Technology.

    If you are planning to submit an application for the 2023 YPP, you must hold a ‎nationality from one of these countries:

    Afghanistan, Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahrain, Belize, Brunei Darussalam, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, China, Comoros, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Israel, Japan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Malta, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), Monaco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Norway, Oman, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, São Tomé and Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Sudan, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Vanuatu.

    Meanwhile, we would advise you to explore the work done at the UN in these (and related job families) across the UN Secretariat and start creating your draft application in Inspira and remember to watch our application guidance video to make sure that you fill out the important parts of your application!

    2022 YPP Update

    Quick update to let you know that we have not yet opened the application period /Job Openings for the 2022 YPP exams (Legal Affairs and Library & Information Management). We expect to do so by early November, and will post here again once they are published. We will still have the application open for a total of two months.

    Meanwhile, please make sure that you are familiar with the type of work in these (and related job families) across the UN Secretariat. If you started your draft application in Inspira when we published the exam areas, make sure to update it with the latest information. We have a very useful application guidance video to guide you through the important parts of your application.

The application period will open in a few months (exam areas to be announced in the upcoming months as well).     WARNING: Official social media accounts of UN Careers

    Please beware of entities that are misusing the UN name, acronym and/or emblem‎ and offering YPP ‎examination preparation services for a fee. One such known ‎entity, named “YPUN,” which also ‎conducts activities under the name “International Relations Career Challenge,” is in no way affiliated ‎with or endorsed by the United Nations. YPUN has engaged in illegal activities, such as ‎the sale of YPP ‎exam materials, which are UN property. Unauthorized disclosure of any portion of a YPP exam ‎constitutes theft of United Nations property. Additionally, YPUN charges fees for preparation materials ‎that the UN provides at no cost. YPUN is also misrepresenting itself as being part of or affiliated with ‎the United Nations, including via its social media accounts. ‎
