As a Human Resources management professional, I have had the opportunity to work with people who have been an inspiration at all levels. Throughout my career at the United Nations, I have served at Headquarters in New York as well as in various duty stations in Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. Overall, this has been a tremendously rewarding experience both professionally and personally as I benefit from interacting with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and cultures. It is a great opportunity to see Human Resources at work!

My early career began in the private sector with a focus on roles in administration and education. I joined the Organization as a national general services staff member with the Oil-For-Food Programme. I then worked in the private sector for two and a half years before returning to various roles including senior human resources positions in the United Nations Office for Project Services as well as in peacekeeping operations. Most recently, I served as Chief Human Resources Officer in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.

In my current role, I approach my work with a spirit of teaching and insight as a procedural strategist. I apply my expertise and technological acumen to lead the Organization's development initiatives and staff training programs.

I am motivated by several essential factors. Working in a dynamic environment gives me energy as well as the autonomy and freedom to work in an open setting, where I can perform my duties easily and comfortably. Respect and recognition for responsibilities that match my capabilities and being challenged to always strive to do things better are also essential for career development and personal growth.

Since joining the Organization, I have watched the steady progress of human resources reform and I have been a keen participant in these positive changes. During this time, new information technology systems aimed at harmonizing and streamlining human resources management have been deployed, which are critical to enhance service delivery for all our clients.

In all my HR functions, I passionately dedicate my time to maximise resources and talent by helping staff to attain their career goals I have provided advice on career transition to numerous field staff for over ten years, through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and educational meetings.
