Org. Setting and Reporting

This position is located within the Financial Resources Management Service (FRMS) at the United Nations Office at Geneva. The work is part of a dedicated team to provide payments and treasury services.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Back Office Manager, the incumbent:


- Maintains and enters banking information by receiving and verifying banking information submitted for clients of various categories into SAP;

- Communicates irregularities and/or inconsistencies to supervisor helping to inform clients on initiated payments for amendment or cancellation;

- Processes United Nations Staff Medical Insurance (UNSMIS) payments via Consolidated Treasury System (CTS). Downloads UNSMIS reimbursements into CTS;

- Creates EFTs to upload in bank payments tools: Office Wings, JPM Access;

- Inputs corrected date in SAP to update banking information records;

- Assists to liaise with banks on transactions (outgoing and incoming funds for unable to apply, non-receipt of funds, recall of funds);

- Organizes and maintains adequate filing for the released payments, banking information by categories of clients and carries out archiving procedures of electronic records;

- Helps supervisor in the testing of enhancements related to treasury applications.

Education

Work Experience

At least 3 years of experience in financial, accounting, treasury or related area is required, of which 2 preferably within the United Nations system.

Languages

Fluency in English or in French, good knowledge of the other is desirable.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice

• This position is temporarily available until 31 December 2019, with an estimated start date of 1 May 2019. If the selected candidate is a staff member from the United Nations Secretariat, the selection will be administered as a temporary assignment.

• While this temporary assignment may provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to gain new work experience, the selection for this position is for a limited period and has no bearing on the future incumbency of the post.

• Subject to the funding source of the position, the eligibility for this temporary job opening may be limited to candidates based at the duty station.

• This temporary job opening may be limited to “internal candidates,” who have been recruited through a competitive examination administered according to staff rule 4.16 or staff selection process including the review of a central review body established according to staff rule 4.15.

• This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.Extension of the appointment is subject to the availability of the funds. • Vacancies at G1-G4 levels are open to both internal and external candidates, including staff members on temporary appointments. However, priority consideration will be given to existing serving staff members. New external candidates will only be considered when a serving staff member holding a Fixed-Term or Temporary Appointment at the time of application cannot be identified.
