Result of Service

Duties and Responsibilities

This post is located within the ICT Section (ICTS), Administrative Services Division (ASD) of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The contractor reports directly to the Team Leader, Customer Support unit, and will be under the overall supervision of the Chief, ICTS.

• Receives and logs local and enterprise service requests in the request management system (customer relationship management or CRM) with minimum delay;
• Resolve service requests on initial contact on relevant hardware and software systems applications in assigned area (Windows, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc ,..)
• Installation of Operating system and standard UN software for PCs. Diagnoses and resolves any hardware, software, or connectivity problem with minimum delay
• Performs tasks related to scheduled service requests, including equipment replacement, equipment installation/de-installation, software installation, LAN connection etc.
• Escalates problems encountered to the supervisor or technical teams;
• Provides basic training to end users on the use of standard systems;
• Generates relevant statistical reports on service desk performance;
• Receives, unpacks, and inspects selected incoming ICT equipment or consumables;
• Maintains and updates assets and asset transactions (notifications, reservations, etc.) in the automated inventory management system/ERP in accordance with established procedures;
• Monitors inventory levels of various ICT equipment and consumables, and alerts supervisor when low thresholds are reached;
• Performs a wide range of functions related to equipment distribution, movement and disposal;
• Generates equipment statistical reports;
• May be required to lift, move, mount, or store equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, or up to 80 pieces of equipment, on daily basis;

Qualifications/special skills

Skills: Skills required:

o Microsoft windows 10
o Microsoft outlook, teams and SharePoint
o Microsoft office
o Customer relationship management or CRM

Knowledge the following skills will be an added advantage:
o ITIL Foundation certificate
o UN ERP system Umoja
Academic Qualifications: B.S. in computer science / information systems, or related field
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in service support
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official United Nations language is an advantage.
