Result of Service

- Prepare specialized code according to the product definition to enable application development
- Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to improve the quality of the solution design
- Complete testing and gathering feedback to improve the quality and reduce the operational risk of the developed application
- Carrying out post-publication activities to develop a knowledge base to feed into future construction and publication cycles
- Provide 3rd level application support and problem resolution to minimize the impact of application-related service outages

Work Location

Italy, Spain, Thailand, Uganda, USA

Expected duration

6 months to one year, with possibility of extension

Join the United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) to develop software solutions using mobile, blockchain, VR/AR, machine learning, data science and other technologies. Join us as consultant. Work with us in Italy, Spain, Thailand, Uganda or the United States.

The capabilities/skills for this role are:
- Business Change, Business Change Management: Requirements Definition and Management
- Solution Development & Implementation, Systems Development: Systems Design, Programming/Software Development, Testing

Qualifications/special skills

Skills:
- Good programming and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques, and develop a career in Software development.
- Self-motivated individual.
- Knowledge of the United Nations Common System is desirable.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's in computer science or software engineering

Experience:
• Experience with a programming language like JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Java, Swift
• Experience with web development and/or mobile development

Language: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
