Knowledge:
The UNV Programme Assistant is required to having at least a university degree or equivalent diploma in business administration, industrial engineering, international affairs, sociology, humanities, economics, or another related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:
The UNV Programme Assistant will spend long hours and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. The UNV Programme Assistant may have to do some lifting of supplies, and materials from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities

The UNV Programme Assistant is requested for the UNV programme in UNVMC. The UN Volunteer Support Officer is responsible for providing professional and technical support on administrative/finance issues and support to all UN Volunteers deployed to UNVMC.
If there is an anticipation to hire similar functions in future, please indicate the need to issue a Job Opening and establish a local IC/C roster as per the current Administrative Instruction (ST/AI/2013/4).

Within the terms of organization’s delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Supervisor assigned the IC/C will undertake the following tasks:
• Assist the UNV Program Manager in administrative activities related to the recruitment services of national and international UN Volunteers for the UNVMC .
• Support the registration of new volunteers entering the information in our internal systems used by the UNV program and in physical folders .
• Maintain the physical archive with the necessary information about UN Volunteers up to date.
• Support the UN volunteer’s management, in tasks such as leave management, roster registration, documentation, benefit management and visa management .
• Support in the preparation of the induction agendas of the new UN volunteers; and support in the process of administrative / programmatic induction .
• Support to maintain a fluid communication, when required, with the volunteers, sending them the requested information .
• Perform other related duties in the framework of their functions that are requested according to the policies, regulations and procedures of UNV Colombia.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: Educational Requirements
The UNV Programme Assistant is required to have a minimum of the High school diploma; and certified training in business administration, industrial engineering, international affairs, sociology, humanities, economics, or other related field.
Experience: The consultant should have at least 3 years of experience in administration, HR, managing volunteers or related areas.
Language: The UNV Programme Assistant is required to have a good command of spoken and written Spanish. English as working knowledge.
