Through these services the Initiative will be able to enhance its effectiveness in coordinate work to engage a broad range of financial institutions, including commercial banks, asset managers, insurers, and multi-lateral development banks – in a structured work programme to embed sustainability into economic development. The services will also help the initiative to enhance its capacity to inspire, inform and enable the integration of environmental and social considerations into all aspects of the financial sector’s operations and services and help foster private sector investment in the transition to a resilient and sustainable economy. Finally, the services will help the Initiative to strengthen its approach both within UNEP / UN and externally to banks, insurers and investors, governments, regulators, private sector and multi-stakeholders. The services will also help UNEP’s Green Growth Knowledge Platform to strengthen its capacity to coordinate a global network of experts and organizations to provide knowledge, guidance, data and tools to transition to an inclusive green economy.
