A promotional 60- or 90-second animated video for use on the EMG web site and social media platforms. The video will be based on a script of fewer than 150 words provided by the EMG Communications Consultant.

The Consultant will be expected to deliver agreed-upon outputs and services within a period of one month after the start of the contract.
Organization Background
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.
The Environment Management Group (EMG) is a United Nations (UN) system-wide coordination body on environment and human settlements established in 2001 pursuant to the General Assembly resolution 53/242. The Group is supported by a secretariat provided by UN Environment Programme, located in Geneva, Switzerland. The EMG membership consists of the specialized agencies, programmes and organs of the United Nations including the secretariats of the Multilateral Environmental Agreements. The EMG identifies issues on the international environmental agenda that warrant cooperation and finds ways of engaging its collective capacity in coherent management responses to those issues. In accordance with its Terms of Reference the EMG works through Issue Management Groups, Consultative Processes and Task Teams.
EMG is currently enhancing its communications and outreach activities to ensure a better understanding and recognition of EMG’s services and value to its stakeholders. The video animation consultant will make one of the planned outreach products for the EMG secretariat.
Expected Outputs
1. Proposal for one or more designs and approaches to the video
2. Developed and finalized video for EMG
3. Final editable files as well as MP4 or other requested formats
Tasks and responsibilities
Tasks will include but not be limited to:
1. Research for designs and approaches to produce the video
2. Work closely with the Communications Consultant to develop and finalize the video
3. Arrange the voiceover artist and music whether a subtitled version should also be recorded
Skills: Demonstrate successful completion of video animation projects with various clients. International experience and knowledge of environmental issues are a plus.
The candidate should have the ability to deliver outputs and work under pressure to meet the deadlines.
Academic Qualifications: University Degree or Diploma in film production, communications, marketing, journalism, international relations, public administration or related field. Training or certification in video and animation production is required. In case of more experienced candidates in the relevant area, the academic requirements could be reduced.
Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in video and animation production.
Language: For the advertised post, fluency in oral and written English is an absolute requirement. Knowledge of French or any other UN language would be an additional advantage.
