In 2020, OHCHR established a Working Group on Sustainable Environmental Management (WG-SEM) and an Organizational Effectiveness Action Plan for Sustainable Environmental Management (OEAP10). The OEAP10 calls for a mandatory online course on sustainable environmental management to increase the level of OHCHR staff members’ awareness of sustainable environmental management. Drawing on and leveraging good practices on sustainable environmental management as well as expertise of key external experts including from civil society and academia, a team of innovation engine students has developed key elements for a course on SEM and human rights, including a course outline and script, under the continuous supervision, guidance and support of the Working Group on Sustainable Environmental Management. The course contains 5 modules and a final assessment, and is expected to take participants 75 – 90 minutes to complete.
OHCHR is now seeking a consultant specialized in online learning to further design, develop, pilot test and revise a training course on rights-based Sustainable Environmental Management for its staff.
