Result of Service

Main output which the National Consultant is expected to provide is the reliable and punctual operational support for implementation of programmes/projects.

Nagoya, Japan

Expected duration

6 months from 1 October 2021 or earliest possible date with a possibility of extension up to 9 months, which depends on the Consultant's performance and fund availability.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Coordinator of the Environment Unit of UNCRD, the National Consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
 To provide necessary operational and logistics support in organizing the Regional EST Forum, Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum, workshops, conferences, training courses and field trips.
 To assist with preparation of brochures, posters, leaflets, and other information material on EST and 3R project, as necessary.
 To assist with preparing EST and 3R project-related documents/activities, travel requests and compilation of meeting documentations, etc.
 To assist in compiling articles and documents of Environment Unit activities for the UNCRD website and publications (annual report and newsletter) on a regular basis.
 To assist with day-to-day correspondences with stakeholders and donors of the EST and 3R projects.
 Provide operational support for IPLA as necessary.
 To set up and maintain files, records, project documents, in relation to EST, 3R and IPLA activities.
 To carry out any other duties which are assigned by the Coordinator of the Environment Unit.

Qualifications/special skills

Undergraduate degree from University is required for the position.
3 years of experience in providing operational and logistics support (including external communications with governments, international participants, etc.) in organizing international conferences, workshops, training programmes, etc.
