Duration of Contract: 3 months
Objective:
This temporary assignment is to support the Property Management Unit, Inventory and Warehouse Management to enter data during the end year physical count exercise.
Responsibilities:
Under the general guidance of the Chief of PMU and the direct supervision of Inventory and Warehouse Management, the data entry clerks will be assigned to perform the following tasks:
1. Daily, compile the completed count stock items on spread sheet and submit it to the Supervisor for approval;
2. Enter data as reported by the physical count team and approved by the supervisor of I/W M;
3. Cross check and verify the Umoja data against the report provided by the physical count team;
4. Report and record unfound and disposable stock items;
5. Perform any other activity as directed by the Supervisor of the I/W M
Competencies:
• Knowledge of Property Management system of tracking, serialization and coding systems.
• Ability to reconcile records from different sources and to prepare reports on a wide variety of data electronically.
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver outputs within prescribed time

• Speak and write clearly and effectively;
• Listen and correctly interpret instructions.
• Work collaboratively with others to achieve set objectives.

Academic Qualifications: High school diploma, micro-soft applications i.e. excel application and data management is required. Additional IT education, strong data entry and data management experience is an asset.
Experience: At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of Supply Chain Management, business administration/ accounting or IT is required. Experience in Inventory and warehouse is an advantage.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Excellent English writing ability is a must. Knowledge of French or another official United Nations language is an advantage.
