The incumbent shall provide research substantive and administrative assistance in the implementation of the project in the ESCWA region

The vacancy is for a period of 6 months starting 16th of January 2022 to 15th of July 2022 (with possibility of renewal for an extra 3 months).
This is a vacancy for an individual contractor who will be assigned as a research assistant on the project entitled "Undertaking Population Census & Vital Statistics Via Civil Registrations in the Arab Region", within the Cluster 4- Statistics, Information Society and Technology at ESCWA under the supervision of the coordinator of the Population Census, Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Systems Programme.
The responsibilities will include research and administrative work which require substantive experience in data compilation and presentation, drafting reports and presentations, organizing meeting, reviewing materials and following-up with consultants.
Skills: Good research and drafting skills are desirable. Computer knowledge and skills in microsoft office and drafting reports are desirable.
Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Demography, Population, or other social science such as epidemiology, health, sociology or education is required.
Experience: The post desires previous experience of eleven years working with demographic and social data. The post also requires expertise in statistics, project/office administration, and analytical reporting.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is required. Knowledge of a third official UN Language is desirable.
