The topics to be covered are the following:
1. Structure and main utilization of the Input output table and SAM
2. Build and perform simulations using the IO and SAM multiplier models
3. Theoretical Development of a basic CGE model
4. Presentation and use of the CGE through the UNESCWA interface
5. Get used to the GAMS software
6. How to construct a CGE model
7. Social Accounting Matrix and calibration of the model
8. Functional forms in CGE models
9. Constructing a closed economy 2 sectors CGE model using GAMS
10. Implementation of the model developed during the last sessions in GAMS.
11. Calibration and Simulation of the model.

Construction of the CGE model for Syria
Skills: Previous experience in working with international organizations is an advantage.
Academic Qualifications: Master's degree in mathematics, economics, or related field is required. A PHD in mathematics, economics or related field is desirable.
Experience: - A minimum of 15 years of experience in economic research is required.
- Experience in quantitative analysis and applying CGE modelling in economics is required.
- An expertise in GAMS software is required.
- Monitoring and Evaluation System for public policy is desirable notably for Arab Countries.
Language: Fluency in English and Arabic is required
