Result of Service

The individual contractor is expected to provide programmatic and project support to the implementation of the infrastructure asset management; organize workshops and meetings; coordinate with the stakeholders and other organizational tasks under the above-mentioned PDF project.

Duties and Responsibilities

The position is located in the International Tax and Development Cooperation Branch of the
Financing for Sustainable Development Office of the Department of Economic and Social
Affairs. The consultant reports to the Economic Affairs Officer, International Tax and
Development Cooperation Branch. The Branch work programme includes policy analysis and
support to intergovernmental processes and capacity building on tax, development
cooperation and other financing for development issues. The Branch carries out DESA's
capacity development programme on tax and other financing for development matters and
serves as Secretariat to both the United Nations Committee of Experts on International
Cooperation in Tax Matters and the Development Cooperation Forum. More information can

Under the supervision of the Senior Economics Affairs Officer, the individual contractor will be responsible to the following work assignment:

-Work with key clients to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of project activities
-Coordinate activities related to budget funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and preparation of related documents/reports (e.g., pledging, work programme, programme budget)
-Draft and monitor implementation of Terms of References for consultants and individual contractors
-Assist in performing consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning and facilitating workshops
-Assist with design of evaluation tools and review, analyze and interpret responses, identify problems/issues and prepare preliminary conclusions
-Provide administrative and substantive support to workshops to include proposing agenda topics, identify and propose participants, prepare background documents and presentations, handle logistics
-Undertake outreach activities; participate in the development of training workshops, seminars, etc.; participate in and make presentations on assigned topics/activities.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree in economics, civil engineering, infrastructure asset management, urban development or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years work experience in project management in asset management, urban development or related field, is required. Experience in project or programme management and administration is desirable.
Language: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

management.
