Result of Service

• Production of a L&D catalogue aligned to the outcome of the Learning Needs Assessment.
• Well-structured catalogue of learning and development components, easy to navigate by ECA staff
• Visually attractive and grammatically correct publication with concise easy-to-navigate and easy-to-understand information
• Each course offering linked to online registration forms, all links tested and verified
• Well-structured index page with links to broad categories of L&D offerings
• Each course listing the portfolio holders of the ODU linked to the coordination of the program, including their contact details
• Integration of at least ten photo or graphic elements to boost the PR value of the catalogue

The Duration of this consultancy is for three weeks with weekly submission of tasks as mentioned on the duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

ECA’s mission is to deliver ideas and actions for an empowered and transformed Africa, informed by the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. The mission is guided by five new strategic directions, which include advancing ECA’s position as a premier knowledge institution that builds on its unique position and privilege to bring global solutions to the continent’s problems and take local solutions to the continent. To achieve positioning as an innovative solution-oriented think-tank, ECA needs to maintain momentum as a dynamic learning organization ensuring that staff is equipped with the knowledge and skills to achieve the organization’s mandate. Strategic learning and development planning are essential for this aim.

The Organizational Development Unit (ODU) operates under the Chief of Human Resources. The unit undertook a comprehensive Learning Needs Assessment throughout December 2021 and is currently in the process of analyzing data. Following the identification of learning and development priorities and the preparation of the ECA Learning Strategy, the annual 2022 learning catalogue will need to be prepared and timely released.

The consultant will play a key role for achieving the timely completion of this project. S/he will closely collaborate with the Chief of Organizational Development and the project consultant who conducted the Learning Needs Assessment.

Specific Tasks include;

Week 1
- Design the structure of the catalogue using relevant software
- Identify graphic elements and photos to be utilized
- Submit draft version

Week 2

- Integrate feedback received on draft version
- Integrate online registration links
- Submit for stakeholder feedback

Week 3

- Finalize the L & D catalogue, getting it ready for final review and publication

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in a field related to Graphic Design and or Desktop Publishing is required. A first level University Degree in the above fields coupled with additional two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the Advanced University Degree.
Experience: • Prior and proven five or more years of experience in graphic designing and preparing attractive publication materials and documents for international organizations is required.
• Information technology and artistic design skills, including the integration of photos and graphics into publications.
• Proven communication skills to collaborate effectively with the project stakeholders
• Able to plan and organize tasks to meet publishing deadlines
Language: • Fluent in oral and written English with excellent grammar, composition and editing skills is required.
