Result of Service

The consultancy services will provide child protection with technical guidance-notes and recommendations permitting to ensure a responsible closure of the child protection office in Kalemie field office, alongside a timely transition and a methodic hand over of the child protection tasks to UNICEF and the national authorities in Tanganyika Province by latest June 2022

2 months initial contract between April-June 2022, with possible extension when the new budget is in place

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the chief child protection section, the consultant will
- Produce details and data on parties to the conflict committing grave violations against children as per Security Council resolution 1612
- Describe the movements of armed groups, the evaluation of child soldiers in their ranks, and the strategy to separate these children,
- He (She) will define children needs to be addressed and the response to violence posed by armed groups.
- He (she) will determine the impact of MONUSCO exit (from specific geographic areas ) on the protection of children still present in the armed groups.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: First level University Degree or a High School Diploma + a former or similar contract with MONUSCO
Experience: At least 2 years’ experience working with NGOs, national authorities or the UN in conflict or post conflict zones, in the fields of child protection, DDR, Human rights, civil affairs, Rule of law or the protection of civilians.
Language: National languages applicable in the duty station
