High quality translated documents in support of the implementation of the Secretariat’s work plan.

The individual contractor will be translating documents and other information, from the original English version into Spanish that pertain to and are in the support of the Secretariat work programme for 2020-2022, particularly the 19th meeting of the Conference of the Parties.
a) Required years of work experience: 2 years of experience, preferably with biodiversity related Conventions
b) Required field of work and where applicable, area of specialty: Spanish translation
c) Education qualifications: Secondary School degree at minimum. Degree in translation is desirable.
d) Knowledge of languages: English and Spanish required, French is desirable
Competencies: Excellent skill in translating documents and other information from English into Spanish. Knowledge of French is desirable. Proven knowledge of terminology used in the UN, UNEP and the CITES Secretariat.
Excellent writing and linguistic skills; highest standards of accuracy, consistency and faithfulness to the spirit, style and nuances of submitted documents. Good grasp of terminological and reference research techniques.
Ability to work against tight deadlines.
