Expected duration

¿ The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
¿ Remuneration for this consultancy will be $1,592.60 and depend on fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience.
¿ The incumbent will be only in Gaza.

Duties and Responsibilities

¿ Developing new frameworks for cloud security.
¿ Implementing new security measures on the Azure cloud.
¿ Collaborating with programmers and developers to create strategies for improving security.
¿ Scripting and automating security processes using Azure.
¿ Informing clients about the Azure cloud and its services.
¿ Using networking and virtualization to improve cybersecurity measures.
¿ Maintaining communication with project heads to keep track of progress.
¿ Meeting with clients to discuss their security needs and satisfaction with Azure services.
¿ Using internal resources from Microsoft and external resources to develop security measures.
¿ Organizing reports that detail new security implementations for clients to review.
¿ Creating cybersecurity systems for cloud environments and hybrid environments that use stationary hardware.

¿ Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

¿ Experience in security monitoring technologies, including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Endpoint Detection & Responses (EDR), Security Incident Event Management systems (SIEM), and Anti-Virus log collection systems for the purpose of comprehensive log analysis.
¿ Any one of the Azure certifications - Azure Security Engineer Associate; Azure Developer Associate; Azure Solutions Architect and/or Microsoft Solutions Architect
¿ Information Security related certifications issued by Offensive Security, SANS or ISC2
¿ Previous experience in administration of Azure and hybrid environments;
¿ Experience working in an agile development environment

Academic Qualifications:

¿ A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Experience:
¿ A minimum of 5 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years for a master’s degree in IT Operations, Software Development, Security, or related experience.

¿ Deep domain expertise in cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e., Windows and Linux IaaS, SAP, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers, and Infra as code technology)
¿ Working knowledge of native Azure Platform security tools and service tools
¿ Varied experience working with security applications such as anti-virus, firewalls, IDS, etc.;
¿ Exposure and experience working with security applications such as firewall, anti-virus, patch management, and vulnerability management;
¿ Excellent aptitude for process and methodologies related to cybersecurity protection, detection, and response and an understanding of applied security concepts and best practices;
¿ Knowledge of application security and cloud/mobile security;

Language:
¿ Fluent in spoken and written English.
¿ Fluency in spoken and written Arabic.

Additional Information

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a Cloud/ Security Specialist responsible for identifying threats to the cloud and on-premise systems and developing new features to meet security needs. Moreover, he is responsible for building, maintaining, upgrading, and continuously improving cloud and on-premise systems.


The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza and technically to the Senior Information Security Officer at Headquarter Amman.
