CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The following conditions are to be observed:
• The position will run in a full-time basis from 01 September 2022 to 31 July 2023.subject to extension in line with CPD 1
• Remuneration will be on a monthly basis at P3 rate, with a monthly salary of $5224.
• The incumbent will be based in Amman.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing, together with the Fields, a project implementation plan and timeline to ensure that planned activities are on track and project goals are achieved;
• Manage progress and reporting in close coordination with Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD); monitors the project, its timeline and budget and cooperates closely with the focal Project staff, i.e. the Education Department (ED) business lead as well as with the Health Department (HD) Project Manager on the overall joint Digital Transformation Project funded by the German government through KfW;
• Manage the different stands of the project (e.g. preparation, reporting, etc.), in accordance with the project agreement, in coordination with the Fields;
• In collaboration with the Education projects and planning officer, prepare regular narrative and financial project reports, as per donor requirements and criteria
• Prepare project support documents as appropriate in each Field of Operation where the project is implemented;
• Monitor project implementation and adapt project timeline and / or activities as required;
• Establish a document repository and capture project documents in a structured and timely manner;
• Support in organising/coordinating capacity building for education staff;
• Provides support to the Fields and relevant Department in HQA with regards to procurement, device management, etc., in close coordination with relevant Departments (IMTD / PLD);
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications:
An advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in education, international relations, international development, project management, social/political sciences or related fields
Experience:
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in project management in the Education sector or related fields, analysis, and ICT project implementation, and a minimum of two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport or a national identity number.
• Previous work experience in humanitarian aid settings, preferably with international organisations.
• Familiarity and participation in digitalization projects in the education sector, e.g. ICT infrastructure, EdTech, media, information, and digital literacy, etc.
• Excellent written and oral command of English.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Proven ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with colleagues and others in a team environment.
• Respect for diversity and adaptability.

• Excellent written and oral command of English.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Project management certification, e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA
• Written and verbal communication skills in Arabic.
• Previous experience working in a United Nations organisation
• Experience in cooperation with donor institutions.
• Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and related applications.

REPORTING

The incumbent will be reporting to the Senior Education Programme Specialist and in close coordination with the IMTD Business Service Manager.
