The consultant shall:
1. Develop a long-term fundraising action plan in close coordination with OHCHR’s development and external relations team, which includes key entry points for strategic fundraising for OHCHR’s work to advance the human right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
2. Undertake outreach to donors that have been identified as potential strategic allies for OHCHR’s work on the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, including to set up meetings for OHCHR’s Environment and Climate Change Team during UNFCCC COP27 and CBD COP15.
3. Support the preparation of at least three project proposals in line with OHCHR’s already approved fundraising priorities related to the right to a healthy environment.
Advanced degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, Human Rights Law, Environmental Policy, Development, and/or related area. En lieu of an advance degree, candidates with an additional two years of relevant work experience may be considered.
At least five years of experience in fundraising and partnership building for human rights, environmental, climate change or related areas is required.
Experience with the UN system is desirable.
Fluency in English is required
