English language training is needed for UNMHA drivers to be able to improve their English and be in a position to better communicate with their clients, in support of the mandate. In addition, to be able to complete tasks in Umoja as required by all staff and which currently requires labour intensive support by the Human Resources (HR) Team. UNMHA does not have any staff who are qualified to provide English Language training courses.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the SAO and the CSCSDM, the English Teacher will be responsible for conducting English language training for UNMHA national staff and will be responsible to perform the duties as follows.
Duties:
• Assess the English language needs of UNHMA national staff who sign up for training, in consultation with the staff and by conducting an English language placement test;
• Develop and maintain a folio of appropriate language materials and syllabus for English language training;
• Develop and use training and learning methodologies to meet participants needs;
• Assess the performance of all students and evaluate them on a regular basis with written tests to be conducted and results shared with HR, SAO and CSCSDM;
• Evaluate on a regular basis the effectiveness of training using a variety of methods including consultation with students, the SAO and CSCSDM;
• Maintain ongoing records of attendance at classes, English language training activities and prepare reports for HR, the SAO and CSCSDM on a monthly basis.

Qualifications/special skills

For this assignement a High School Diploma.is required, and Completion of course in Teaching English as a Second Language is required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Teaching English as a Second Language.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and facilitation methods.
Good computer skills (Microsoft Office/Word/Excel).

Languages

Fluency in both English and Arabic languages are required for this post.
