Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure governance of Project/Program status reporting for data completeness and data quality
- Supporting Project Managers with project-related documentation (e.g. meeting minutes, PIDs, and so forth) in project management tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, Project Server) as applicable
- Standardization of templates for project documentation
- Assist with audit-related controls (ensuring all projects adhere to PM-controls in place)
- Monitoring/reporting of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and governance related to UNICC’s portfolio
- The candidate can be pulled into projects (shadowing what a senior does, be OICs)
- Oversee the efficiency of the process and data quality control
- Assist with the analysis of data (e.g., Burn rate review periodically, Proactive review of Lessons Learned log)
- Assist with coordination of RFP responses
- Contribute to the continuous development of PMO process and tools
- Undertake any other administrative tasks as specified by the Project Management Team.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualification

A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines.


• A minimum of 2 years experience for a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 1 year for a master’s degree in IT work experience, project administration, project management office, procurement, or similar.
• PRINCE2 Practitioner certification / Program Management (MSP) would be preferred
• Knowledge on any of the following areas would be preferred:
• Office 365 and Exchange Messaging / Migration Services
• Infrastructure, ERP Applications and Cloud Hosting / Migration services
• Application Development, BlockChain, Automation (RPA), Data & Analytic, ServiceNow
• Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment

The resource MUST have the following skills and experience:
• Professional and/or managerial background, ideally with IT delivery within PMO, Managed Services, IT outsourcing industry, Consultancy Experience.
• Knowledge or experience with RFPs is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
• Knowledge on any of the following areas would be preferred:
• Office 365 and Exchange Messaging / Migration Services
• Infrastructure, ERP Applications and Cloud Hosting / Migration services
• Application Development, BlockChain, Automation (RPA), Data & Analytics
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of project management, flowcharts, technical documentation, etc.

The resource SHOULD have the following skills and experience:
• Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
• A high degree of initiative, being independent and able to work with little supervision
• A high level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgement and maturity
• Ability to deliver quality results
• Experience with Jira or some other Agile development tools
• Customer-centric approach to delivery
• Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and comfortable with short deadlines
• Understanding of the UN system is desirable
• Experience in working with remote teams
• Expert knowledge of English is required
• Ability to find innovative solutions
• Able to complete complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.

Desirable certifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, IT, or related field
• Experience of Prince2 or other Project Management methodology and/or best practice is desirable.

• The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
• Remuneration for this consultancy will be1,300 USD and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
• The incumbent can be in any of UNRWA fields of operations (Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank).

Additional Information

UNRWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) that aims to enhance livelihood and human development opportunities to Palestine refugees in Gaza. By this new collaboration, UNRWA becomes a provider of Information Management, Technology services and capacity augmentation to UNICC technical team, on a cost recovery basis through IMTD/IT Service Center (ITSC) in HQ-Gaza.

United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) is a UN agency that provides IT services to other UN agencies on a cost recovery basis.

Comprising of one of the largest groups of certified Prince2 and Agile project management experts and practitioners, UNICC’s Project and Programme Services offer clients with services ranging from light-touch project management, end-to-end project management, and program management.
Client stakeholders can expect budget transparency, timely realization of milestones, improved controls and reporting and compliance. Via deployment of shared resources to serve Clients and provide economies of scale, benefits include adherence to project best practices, processes, templates and development, maintenance, and storage of project templates and/or project documentation.

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking for Consultant – Project Support Admin to provide administrative support with project management services. The Project Support Admin will be responsible to support and assist Project managers with the efficient execution of projects. The candidate will also have to complete office administrative tasks under the direction of a team of Project Managers.

The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza and technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).
