Cadre organisationnel

The position is located at the UNOSDP Liaison Office in New York.
The UNOSDP Head of Office and the New York based Liaison Officer will supervise and direct the work of the intern. The intern will be expected to assist with all relevant activities of the UNOSDP NY Liaison Office as well as the office in general.
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: 3 – 6 months
The internship is UNPAID and full-time
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Responsabilités

Drafting, editing, translating endorsements, letters, briefing notes, speeches, interviews, press releases, press announcements, op-eds, articles, ;
Undertaking research on specific topics related to sport for development and peace;
Assisting in meetings and preparing summaries etc.
Collecting media articles and compiling press reviews;
Participating in the development of an advocacy and fundraising strategy
Supporting the day to day running of the office;
Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Compétences

Completed undergraduate degree in international relations, international law, development studies, communications, sports science or other related area;
Completed or currently undertaking a post-graduate programme (Masters or PhD) in the above-mentioned disciplines;

Formation

International Relations, Political Sciences, Development Studies, law, sports science or related fields;
Interest in sport.

Expérience professionnelle

Relevant professional experience an asset

Connaissances linguistiques

Fluency in English.
Excellent written skills;
Knowledge of other UN languages an asset.
