This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. The position is located in the the Financial Information Operations Service (FIOS), Office of Programme Planning Budget and Accounts (OPPBA). The Financial Information Assistant reports to the Chief, Finance Master Data Team.
Under the general supervision of the Integrated Master Data Management Service Lead, the incumbent is responsible for the following:
- Provides support in maintaining Financial Master Data and the SAP Coding Block. Coordinates the overall operations related to the Master Data Maintenance
- Assists in the development as well as maintains and enhances procedures, SOPs, reference documents, work status posted in the collaboration space and keep them updated for the use of MDM team members and management.
- Provides training and guidance to team members and peers
- Consults/Coordinates with the OCSS Master Data Maintenance Team, OHRM Master Data Maintenance Team, Umoja Technical Support Staff, OICT help desk and other concerned parties to resolve issues encountered.
- Acts as liaison with main stakeholders to effectively process requests and to optimize working practices.
- Generates and distributes reports to MDM team lead and other stakeholders.
- Supports the Master Data Management Service Lead in other activities such as coordinating meetings, writing minutes of meetings, recruitment processes, etc.
- Performs other duties as required.

High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of five years of experience in finance, budget, accounting, Information systems management, administrative services or related area is required. Experience conducting data analysis using Microsoft Excel formulas and functions, and other statistical tools is required. Experience in Database Structured Query Language SQL is desirable. Experience in report writing using Business intelligence tools such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects or HANA is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
