Home Based Consultancy
The contract is for a total of two weeks each month, spread over a period of two years.
1. Providing overall leadership for the development of investigation and prosecution strategies to be used in any possible future accountability process.
2. Providing blueprints for suitable court models.
3. Analysing available information from a criminal law perspective, identifying possible prosecution strategies and information gaps.
4. Providing guidance and mentoring on information gathering for international criminal prosecution and the establishment of a central information and evidence repository.
5. Ensuring that information is collected, received and stored fully in line with international norms and standards.
6. Facilitating high level contacts with international tribunals and other relevant structures.
7. Producing a (confidential) report for OHCHR containing analysis, as well as proposed investigation and prosecution strategies for use in future accountability processes as well as blueprints for court models.
Academic Qualifications: Legal degree, with proven experience in international criminal justice
Experience: MINIMUM of 15 years of experience in human rights/ international human rights law of which at least 3 years gained at international court/tribunal
Language: Fluency in English (written and oral) is required. Knowledge of Korean or Japanese or Chinese is an advantage.
This position is for two weeks each month spread over two years with possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funds
