Cadre organisationnel

The Inspection and Evaluation Division (IED) in the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) internship is for three months with an opportunity for extension, pending on the needs of the department

The internship is UNPAID and full-time.

Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.


•To work on the various inspection and evaluation projects;
•To undertake research and analysis on various issues as required by the Chief of Section;
•To utilize analytical software when appropriate for quantitative or qualitative data analysis;
•To support/assist the Chief of Section in any other inspection and evaluation matters; and
•Perform other duties as required.

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations New York Headquarters Internship
Programme, the following conditions must be met:
•Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher); or
•If pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree.
•Be proficient in standard software applications and SPSS;
•Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
•Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Profiency in written and spoken English is required for participation in the Internship
