Org. Setting and Reporting

These positions are in the Master Data Management (MDM) Section located in Valencia which report to the Financial Information Operations Service (FIOS), Office of Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts, Department of Management. The incumbents report to the Local Unit leader (G-6) of the Master Data Management (MDM) Section located in Valencia.

Responsibilities

•Gathers and reviews requirements for development of financial, performance and monitoring reports and provides relevant support to finance users. Participates in the support of financial application systems servicing OPPBA. Liaises with users to define and specify requirements, tests and implements simple computer application systems.
•Prepares and maintains documentation, standard operating procedures and training materials and conducts technical presentations.
•Provides support for deployed computer application systems including version management, data management and support; performs ongoing reviews with users and developers and responds to users’ requests.
•Performs daily operational tasks of creating and maintaining one or more types of Business Partner information for SAP.
•Address requests received according to pre-set Customer Relationship Management (CRM) workflow.
•Maintains the integrity of business partner data, undertakes data cleansing, enhances the quality of data.
•Escalate problems encountered to the Local Master Data unit leader.
•Performs other duties as required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in business administration, finance, procurement, human resources, information systems management or a related area is required. Experience in information systems support, customer service management or related area is required. Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) such as SAP is desirable. Experience with Master Data Maintenance is desirable. Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system such as Siebel is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise and a competency-based interview.

Special Notice

The funding for these positions is of a temporary nature. Extension of the appointment is subject to extension of the mandate and/or the availability of the funds.

These positions are subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Having passed the Administrative Assessment Support Test (ASAT) in English at Headquarters, ECA, ESCWA, UNOG, UNOV, ICTR, or ICTY or the United Nations Examination for Accounting Assistants (AACE) at UN Headquarters or passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration for this post.

Staff Members are subject to the authority of the Secretary-General and to assignment by the Secretary-General. In this context, all staff are expected to move periodically to new functions in their careers in accordance with established rules and procedures.
