Verbal Reasoning Test for Editorial and Desktop Publishing Assistants
Successful performance in the Verbal Reasoning Test (VRT) is a requirement for candidates who have applied and been deemed suitable for:
- (a) Editorial and Desktop Publishing Assistant positions in the text-processing teams in the Documentation Division and/or
- (b) Desktop Publishing Assistant positions in the Content Services Unit of Department for General Assembly and Conference Management at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Candidates who have passed the verbal reasoning part of the GGST are exempt from the VRT.
The VRT is a computer-based test administered in a proctored environment. It consists of 24 verbal reasoning questions designed to assess a candidate’s ability to deal with job-relevant written documents. Candidates are usually assessed in the official UN language that is indicated as the required language for the job.
